What We Do

Mitchell Tinsley is Shelby County's Youth Service and Minority Affairs Coordinator.

Youth Services works with at-risk children in the community, as well as juvenile offenders, that are transitioning through the District or Family Court System.  Mitchell helps to provide and coordinate services for youth ages 10-18 years of age, and address any issues and/or problems affecting their overall behaviors at home, school or in the community.

The Office of Minority Affairs is responsible for the operation of the county's Minority Affairs program, which provides outreach and serves as liaison between the minority communities, county government, the juvenile justice system, the educational system, and economic development.  The Minority Affairs office develops effective working relationships among a variety of government, public and private agencies, and minority coalitions to provide outreach and services to Minority Communities.
