The Shelby County Road Department is responsible for maintaining all county-owned roads within Shelby County, excluding state highways, federal highways, and streets maintained by incorporated cities.
Our team provides routine maintenance, emergency response, infrastructure improvements, and public-facing services to support safe and reliable travel throughout the county.
What We Maintain
Shelby County oversees 310+ miles of county roadway, including:
Routine and emergency maintenance
Drainage structure repair and replacement
Snow and ice removal
Pothole and pavement repair
Roadside mowing and vegetation control
Grading and ditching
Road signage installation and replacement
Tree and debris removal
Asphalt resurfacing and roadway improvement projects
